Akinpelu also disclosed that the boys resorted to using other dangerous weapons on him after foiled several gunshot which could not penetrate.

But reacting, the Oyo State Chapter of the Oodua People’s Congress led by Otunba
Gani Adams denied the attack on the warring faction.

Rather, the state secretary of OPC, Gani Adams faction Comrade Julius Olajide called on the government and other relevant Security agencies in the State to as a matter of urgency fish out the killers
of one of their members, Lekan Adebayo who died during the alleged attack with so called OPC's New Era.

According to him, one of the six members
who sustained injuries in the factional clash that occurred on Thursday during the Yoruba Summit on Restructuring that took place at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, died in the early hours of Friday, September 8, at a
private hospital located within the city.

He added that the deceased, Lekan Adebayo, a member of the Otunba Gani Adams faction
of the OPC, was reportedly shot at the head during the Thursday’s attack.

The Secretary of the Oyo state chapter of the Gani Adams led OPC, further hinted that five other members of the faction were in critical conditions in the hospital.

According to him, the aim and objective of the OPC is to promote and protect the interests of the Yorubas, saying that it was the reason
the supporters of Otunba Gani Adams attended the Ibadan Yoruba summit
en masse.

He revealed that if not to the quick intervention of the police and other security agencies, the situation would have even been more precarious than what happened at the event.

The Oyo OPC’s scribe said: "I wondered what the unscrupulous elements who want to hijack power by all means from Otunba Gani Adams stand to gain by disturbing the peace that has been reigning in the state since the inception of Governor Abiola Ajimobi led administration.

"I am calling on members of the public to continue to pray for the quick recovery of the five others who are still in critical conditions
Mr. Abidemi Azeez, Taoreed Azeez, Lekan Sulaimon, Opeyemi, and Sodiq while I pray that God should give the family of Mr. Lekan Adebayo the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss", factional's scribe said.

He, therefore, called on the police to fish out the perpetrators of the violence, saying because they are not above the law. He urge the police to make sure that true justice prevails so that Mr. Lekan Adebayo did not die in vain while he added that OPC's Gani Adams will still maintain peace and order because, the members are not touts or thugs, a reason they will continue to maintain their noble character.
